Bielefeld location

Yekmal e.V. Bielefeld was founded in spring 2022 to support people and families, particularly those with a history of migration, in participating in society.

Located in the International Meeting Center Bielefeld, it offers regular advice and support. In addition, regular women's meetings are held at which local stakeholders are invited to discuss specific topics and inform participants about needs-oriented topics such as education, healthcare, language courses and the social space.

At the Bielefeld location, we offer various projects, services and events. In addition to the aforementioned counseling and support services and the women's meetings, weekly parent cafés are held, currently at a Bielefeld elementary school. During the meetings with the parents of the elementary school in question, school-related topics are discussed and we support the parents with school-related problems.Since early 2023, Yekmal e.V. Bielefeld has been cooperating with the Baumheide district and uses the district's premises for its services.

Baumheide is a Bielefeld district with a high number of residents with a migration background. Accordingly, we have established an intensive advisory and support service there. We also offer a regular, low-threshold language course for women in the district.
