Yekmal e.V. offers low-threshold counseling services at several locations in Germany, including Essen, Herford and Bielefeld. Our aim is to provide fast, unbureaucratic and comprehensive support to people in a wide range of situations. Our advice centres are deliberately designed to be easily accessible in order to minimize barriers to accessing our services.
At Yekmal e.V., we attach great importance to making access to our support services as easy as possible for everyone. Our approach aims to break down barriers and create an open, accessible and trusting environment. Regardless of origin, social background or language skills, every person should receive the help and support they need in an atmosphere that is familiar and comfortable for them.
Multilingualism as a key component
Multilingual support is a key aspect of our low-threshold advice service. Our advisors speak several languages, including Kurdish, German, Turkish, English and Arabic. This wide range of languages ensures that language barriers do not become an obstacle to accessing our services. Everyone has the opportunity to receive advice in their preferred language, which builds trust and enables effective communication.

Our counseling services are diverse and cover a wide range of topics to meet the various needs of our community. These include, among others:
- Education: support with educational issues and school challenges.
- Parenting: advice on parenting issues and family matters.
- Social participation: Promoting integration and social participation in the community.
- Legal issues: Assistance with legal matters.
- Health: Advice and support on health issues.
Our consultations are flexible. We offer individual counseling sessions as well as group counseling sessions and information events to meet different needs.
