Yekmal e.V. Bremen

The Bremen branch of Yekmal e.V. was founded in September 2022 with the aim of promoting and supporting the inclusion and participation of people with a migration background in Bremen. Since its foundation, the location has developed into an important contact point for families with a migration biography, especially Kurdish families, who are at the center of the work, as well as for all those interested in intercultural exchange and support. The Bremen location embodies the values of Yekmal e.V. and has established itself as an important center for cultural, social and educational participation.

Function and role

Yekmal e.V. Bremen serves as a regional office that specifically addresses the needs of the Kurdish and migrant communities in Bremen. The location is instrumental in coordinating and implementing the association's offers, activities and services in Bremen, which makes it an indispensable part of the association's structure.

Programs and focus areas

A wide range of projects, programs and activities are offered at the Bremen location. The focal points include:

• Language courses: Promotion of multilingualism with a special focus on Kurdish-German educational opportunities.
• Educational and cultural events: Educational programs critical of discrimination, support and promotion of cultural identity and social integration through regular events and workshops.

The premises include well-equipped offices, a seminar room for meetings and events and a counseling room for individual support.
