Yekmal e.V.'s outpatient parenting support service offers families, children and young people in Berlin, Essen, Herford and Bielefeld support with parenting issues, everyday problems and crisis situations. Our approach is resource-oriented and intercultural, based on systemic methods. We focus on helping people to help themselves and promote the independence of families, children and young people. Outpatient help is generally offered in the familiar environment of the child, young person or family.
Our outpatient parenting support services in accordance with SGB VIII include parenting support (Section 30) and socio-pedagogical family support (Section 31), with the aim of strengthening parenting skills, promoting conflict resolution strategies and developing sustainable solutions for everyday life.
The multilingual services in German, Kurdish (Kurmancî, Soranî, Kirmanckî/Zazaki), Arabic, Turkish, Farsi, Dari, Russian and Albanian are aimed at families with and without migration or refugee experience. Our offices are well connected in Berlin and NRW and we cooperate closely with Berlin and Essen youth welfare offices in all districts, educational institutions, health services and various counseling centers in order to offer comprehensive support.
Our experienced specialists work in a culturally sensitive and socially oriented manner. They use socio-pedagogical strategies from solution-oriented and systemic counseling.
