Asylum and procedural advice (AVB)

We offer you legal advice on all questions of asylum law and accompany you as an asylum seeker in Germany from the application to the final decision. This includes, among other things

• Application and information about the asylum procedure
• Individual preparation for the interview at the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF)
• Advice on second and subsequent applications for asylum
• Appeals and filing of complaints as well as referral to lawyers
• Supporting asylum seekers in legal and court proceedings in cooperation with lawyers
• Advice on the asylum procedure in the event of particular individual difficulties and referral to specialist services

We advise you individually and support you in obtaining your rights. Our aim is to guide you through the asylum procedure and take the next steps together with you. By providing information and advice, we want to enable you to recognize your rights and deal confidently with the challenges of the asylum procedure.

We cooperate within the network of Berlin counseling centers for asylum and procedure counseling (AVB) as well as in the nationwide network of AVB counseling centers. We work together with the Berlin network for particularly vulnerable refugees and with many other partners, including Xenion, Zentrum Überleben, special advice centers and specialist services as well as lawyers and doctors. The counseling is funded as independent asylum and procedural counseling (AVB) by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees with the forwarding of funds by the Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband, Gesamtverband.
